Normally an ident would denote the channel that the audience are watching, however with this ident it does not show that, this makes the audience wonder what channel that they are watching because the channel of the logo is not shown. The identity purpose has gone in this ident, it has changed because the logo for this channel is not shown.

The viusals in the red ident of Channel 4 is very different to the one below it, Waves Crashing on Rocks Channel 4 Ident. The reason is because in the 2006 ident it show a beautiful location of where the ident takes place, whereas the in 1999 ident the visual are not really shown, they only rely on the transitions to make their ident. The 2006 ident would fascinate the audience more than the one in 1999 because it is at a location that some of the audience may remeber going to, so it may get them excited about it and appeal them a lot.
